Shapshifting sounds interesting but its not new to GW (see Dervish Elite Forms). It seems to me that if they were to introduce a race with the ability to shapshift it would simply be another skill option you could choose to equip in your bar. ie For X seconds you become a Giant Hamster and your melee attacks do +X dmg etc etc

but may be you are right they got there "exclusive" info from the confidence of a Russian whöre.. So to be safe I urge you to buy Buy PC gamer in two weeks since it is what A.net want you to do .

I'd like to have something funny to say in response... but I don't. Actually, I think I'm just going to go bang my head on a wall now and hope the brain damage runs in the family.

According the web-renowned and respected translator Babelfish (lol..), that text (from Russian to English translation) means:
"Now the peace of game is united, leaving to the task you can meet on it many other parties."

This translation is correct. The world will be uninstanced and when you go for a quest you will be able to encounter/meet other groups/parties.

This translation isn't correct. Russian word "мир" has several meanings, one of them is "world", other one is "peace".
P.S. I'm russian.
P.P.S. Sorry for my English.

Partial-instancing would be easy. Just look at what the current group is doing in this instance, and then send in a new group that will be doing something else. Boom, instant social experience with a minimum of ruined gameplay. To spice it up you could have areas in the game where PVP would be enabled and groups would have the option of conflicting for their goals.
And as far as the business side of running WOW or GW, it is safe to say that nobody here knows anything. Even most people working for these companies wouldn't know the exact financial situation. Suffice it to say though, WOW doesn't cost $14 per month per person to operate. Nor does it cost EA $x per month to run the stat tracking system that registered BF2142 servers connect to. But they happily leech the money from the ignorant population anyway.

WoW handles PVP well enough, in a PVE server it’s entirely your choice to get flagged or not. It’s difficult to consider that ruining a game.

you might want to add some [sarcasm] quotes around that...just in case
On that topic though: I am sure they will figure out some way to prevent killstealing and drop leechers.

well a few more days and all this speculation will die down and instead we'll all hopefully be rejoicing at some really good news. I'm not getting my hopes up for the inquirer article being true tho.

This isn't right getting people's hopes up like this.
Nothing is official until it's official... Especialy when it has no solid source.

Very true, I wish people would look at the source of info sometimes too. They can get some excited by info that isn't guaranteed to be true. (I'm not just talking about this, people seem to jump on the first info on every topic and say it's fact, then be so stubborn when you tell them that it's not)

For all the people comparing GW2 with WoW, for one, the news hasn't been released yet...sit tight. Two, ANet will continue running GW so it's not all bad.
I for one am rather intrigued by all of this. I think an interactive world would be great, it's one of the reasons that nearly sent me over to WoW a year ago. HOWEVER, that all suddenly changed when nearly every monster i killed was exp stolen and then lotted right in front of my eyes. I think if ANet is to make the leap with GW2, they have to be EXTREMELY careful with those problems that keep people away from WoW and faithful to GW.
Obviously, the beta testing will iron out many, many flaws, but if this is true, oh valiant knights of ANet... be careful, please
